Since 1956, It Is Written has been opening God’s Book—the Bible—to present topics that challenge and inspire. From award-winning, on-location programs to fascinating studio interviews, this series explores Christian lifestyle, mission reports, history, inspirational stories, theology, and more.

You’ll find what you’re looking for. “And the scribes and Pharisees watched Him, whether He would heal on the Sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against Him.” - Luke 6:7

With his bare hands! “...go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.” - Matthew 17:27

Everyone wants to be a winner. “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.” - John 14:16

The proof is in the pudding. “...therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to...” - Luke 3:8

You know what it’s like. “And He withdrew Himself into the wilderness and prayed.” - Luke 5:16

Religion and Christianity are not always the same. “…I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.” - Revelation 3:1

In Short: Someone has an angle “But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” - Matthew 15:9

What’s your practice? “And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.” - Luke 4:16

You’ll see it soon. “Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.” - Luke 6:22

That’s not the idea. “...Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.” - Jude 24

Do what you can. “And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, ..." - Mark 12:41-42

There has only ever been ONE. “And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, ‘What a word is this…’” - Luke 4:36

They had a buying price “And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers.” - Matthew 28:12

God provides the strength. “...David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon..." - 2 Samuel 11:2-3

How did he go bad? “For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation..." - Isaiah 14:13-14

A precious resource. “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” - Ecclesiastes 3:1

There’s a place of safety. “...by the word of God...the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished.” - 2 Peter 3:5-6

You can’t always tell. “...lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest...” - Matthew 13:29-30

He didn’t do it alone. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” - Philippians 4:13

He wasn’t dead after all! “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” - 1 Thessalonians 4:16

It matters to God. “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” - 1 Corinthians 6:19

There can be hard times… “...when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.” - Mark 4:17

Lifestyle factors. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” - 3 John 2

He walked with God. “And Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.” - Genesis 5:24

Stay close. “And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” - Mark 9:22

You can’t see them. “So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built..." - Luke 4:28-29

He turns to you… “...The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” - Luke 10:2

Mom closed the coffee shop. “In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.” - Proverbs 14:3

He accepted them back. “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” - Isaiah 55:7

“There was one...” “There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked.” - Isaiah 48:22
